What's the
FEWEST miles you've ever put on an "unlimited miles" car rental?
My personal "best" was 7 miles on a 4-day unlimited-miles rental at LAX Hertz a couple of years ago. I has a 4-day stopover in LA on my way to Sydney. I drove it from the Hertz lot to the nearby hotel's garage. The next morning, I was summoned back to the home office for a special meeting. Didn't have time to return the car.(barely had time to make the flight) I flew back to LAX three days later. Took the hotel shuttle, picked up the card, stopped by a gas station to top up the gass(less than a gallon), returned it to Hertz... Only 7 miles driven. then I caught the Hertz bus back to the terminal and boarded my flight to Sydney. Fortunately, my company paid for the whole thing.

About 10 miles and had the car for maybe 2 hours max.
I was moving into a house at college in a small town and surprisingly knew no one with a truck or large SUV. Between my car and my parents' car, I was able to get my personal belongings down there. My roommates managed to find a couch and kitchen table (I don't want to know where, they were old and disgusting, but hey, it's college). But I still had to furnish my bedroom. And being a college student, I wanted to do it on the cheap. So I rented a pickup truck from Enterprise, got the cheapest desk I could find at Staples, dropped that off at the house, and then went to a furniture outlet store to get a mattress, frame and box spring that couldn't have cost more than $100, and that was really about all I needed. Since it was such a small town, everything was close by so I didn't put much mileage on the truck at all.
The rental didn't cost much at all, because I was a summer intern at Enterprise in their IT department, and the only good thing about that place was the employee discount.
I've been out of college for 4 years now, I think my back still hurts from that cheap bed
