I've never corresponded with the guy, or even heard of him before. And he also asks to be my FT "Friend".

Is this sort of request common here at FT?

Suffice to say, I have no inclination to oblige him, but I was still fascinated that the guy wrote me. Since I'm SPG Lifetime Plat, is it possible/probable he's trying to hustle up the best SET codes from very frequent customers, of which I'm just one of many FTers who received his private message?
I'd take it at face value....students = broke + who love to travel = need to save money. Nothing wrong with trying? I say it's foolish: if you don't have the ID and you try checking in after cancel time, you're subject to rack rates.

And one would probably have huge problems checking in under a SET for the "American Association of English as a First Language Teachers of English as a Second Language" and the guy is english as a second-third-fourth language, or the "Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers" and the guy drives a hybrid.

What type of fraud could be committed through collecting SET codes?
