I received a private message here at FT from a member here who has nearly 300 posts, in which he writes the following:

My name is [name deleted]. Currently, I just graduate and love to travel. Is it possible if you may share your corporate code (SET Code) to me so that I can save some money to enjoy the benefit? Thank you in advanced.

I've never corresponded with the guy, or even heard of him before. And he also asks to be my FT "Friend".

Is this sort of request common here at FT?

Suffice to say, I have no inclination to oblige him, but I was still fascinated that the guy wrote me. Since I'm SPG Lifetime Plat, is it possible/probable he's trying to hustle up the best SET codes from very frequent customers, of which I'm just one of many FTers who received his private message?
