Regarding the lounge access, at certain departure airports around the globe, especially where for the lounge access even the cardholder needs to get a lounge invitation card (either at check-in or at transit counter), I not only ask for my companion but also for any additional colleagues/ friends that may be traveling with me. Very rarely the request has been declined, 99% of the time, the Check-in agent gives me the lounge access for me and my additional companions, and this is especially when we travel economy.
The one airport at which the lounge access is very difficult to obtain for additional companions is NRT, my decline ratio is very high at NRT.
This is better than trying to get two lounge invitation cards.
