Swanhunter wins so far... fabulous.
I would arrive into London a couple of days before my flight and stay in my favourite room at Cliveden then car service to LHR.
CCR for a while before leaving for GRU and then transferring to a guesthouse in paradise (I kid you not) on a secret island beach off the coast of Bahia.
Then up to Francis Ford Coppola's resort in Costa Rica (or is it Belize?) before heading back down to EZE to see friends.
Then another secret hill-top and totally isolated guest house whose owners are now good friends in Mendoza before a few days at one my favourite hotels on the planet, Eolo near El Calafate in Patagonia.
Then some extraordinary riding with the gauchos at a ranch on the border with Chile near San Martin de los Andes. It's a place without electric power, so candlelight and Catena Zapata only after sunset. Magical.
Then over to New Zealand's South Island for wine tasting and trekking. Something involving Whales perhaps, but certainly no extreme sports.
Then to a friend in Australia's outback who has a Zenair to put in the extra hours of flying I need to feel more at ease at the controls... plus the thrill of a couple of weeks crossing Australia from the Barrier Reef to the rainforests North of Perth in a light aircraft fitted with bush wheels so we can land anywhere and camp.
Then up to Japan for a gastronomic tour of the country ... but would need a guide for that.
Then down to Kerala in South India for an Ayurvedic retreat before taking a first class train ticket up North via Delhi (and at last finishing War and Peace on the way...) to an Oberoi resort in the foothills of the Himalayas. Then a jeep up to Manali and through the incomparable Spiti Valley eventually up to Leh and the monasteries (nostalgic about a trip there when I was eighteen)
Then a short spell in Oman or Yemen on the way home because I am curious about those countries.
... and a final stop on the Amalfi Coast of Italy where I would persuade someone with a yacht to take me back to France because I would be well and truly done with airports and aircraft by then
Now back to reality...
