the hotel does a good job in balancing between families and decorum - they do indeed have a "no child" policy in the lounge but are kind enough to set aside one of their adjacent rooms for kids to be with their families.
personally i find the location excellent - the proximity to the various shopping malls is obvious but in addition, there are the cultural attractions of the esplanade and the new developments on the bay
the staff must also be complimented on their cheerfulness and good service standards
