I believe that there is some problem on Expedia coupons.
I tried to book rooms yesterday with a BRG coupon obtained in March but failed. The error message read "There's a problem with the coupon, so I have removed it." Then I made calls to Expedia to ask an agent to book the room for me. However, the agent encountered the same problem and held my call for almost thirty minutes.
Eventually, the agent called the support desk and told me that even the supervisor saw the same error message. The supervisor suggested that I could reserve the room first and they would refund $50 on my credit card afterwards. I agreed and jotted down a case number for this issue. After obtaining my credit information on the call again, the agent has reserved the room for me over the phone. The whole process took me more than an hour! I am going to check the refund on my credit card in a week or so.
It is not my first time to use a BRG coupon on Expedia, but it is the first time that I encounter problems. The reservations went through smoothly with the coupons in the past last November. I have never cancelled any reservation in which BRG coupons were claimed, so I don't know what has happened to the coupon system recently. The problems might have existed for some months, but I cannot verify it as it is my first reservation on Expedia since November.
I hope the whole issue will be solved soon as I still have three coupons on my account obtained in April.
