Arrogant bullies perhaps not ... clumsy ..yes! On a PEK-YVR flight the only safety demo tape was subtitled in German! Few walks around the Y cabin (J was virtually empty) revealed that vast majority were Mandarin speaking and a rough guess would be that many were also on their first flight. Verbal announcements were made in Mandarin and English but when I pointed out to the IC the German subtitled safety demo and suggested they would have to do a manual demo with live Mandarin he just shrugged his shoulders and said "they'll figure it out!". I did send in a note to Dorval and Calgary and got a SWU cert and note of thanks in return.
