Timing question for elite status change and promotion

I made it back to Platinum via a challenge last week. I called SPG and they told me it would take 7 to 10 business days for my status to change from Gold to Platinum. I checked in at the SLS Beverly Hills on Monday for a two day stay and it still had me as Gold. On Tuesday I received an e-mail from SPG congratulated me for making Platinum - so it actually only took about 5 days. I checked my SPG account and noticed that I received the 500 bonus miles for being Platinum but the Gold 2 points for each dollar spend. I was Gold when I checked in but became Platinum during my stay (I earned Platinum before my stay but I t took a few days to actually change). Should I get the 3 points per dollar as a Platinum for this stay?

Also I received the e-mail about the promotion for bonus miles for staying at a renovated property and registered. However, I stayed at one of the properties a few weeks earlier. I get all the e-mail alerts but for some reason this one came about 4 weeks after the promotion started. Can I get these points even though I registered after the stay?
