I've heard that the BA YQ on award travel is bad - can anyone provide some examples of how bad?
Thanks!
I just priced a SAN-LAX-LHR-BOM RT on the AA.com website (not sure it will let you do this if you don't have enough miles to book, so I did this just to get numbers for you). It's 135,000 miles plus $1319 to go in business class (CW) on an award ticket. I priced Y award SAN-LHR-DEL (RT) and it was 90K miles and $917. In both cases, this is for round trip.
You would also have options to use IB or AB and/or EY, with lower YQ. You can price the YQ on ITA. I believe all YQs are getting passed through to the consumer now, it's just that some of them are not as high.
