Long time time lurker, first time poster. I've really gotten a lot out of the forum, and appreciate it.
I'm trying to use points/miles for 3 people to go to SE Asia (Bangkok/KL/Singapore/Bali) with a stopover in Europe. I'm hoping the itinerary can be:
NYC --> CDG/LON/MAD (Stopover) --> Somewhere in SE Asia (BKK/KL/Singapore/Bali) --> NYC
The peculiar thing about the itinerary is that we're students--we have plenty of time (total trip time: 2 months), but almost no money. My miles balances are:
AA: 5k (but could add 50k w/ Fidelity offer)
DL: 144k
US: 21k
SPG: 74k (but I'd prefer to not convert these, and use them for hotels instead)
I've got a well-paying job after graduation, no loans,and only $10,000 total in revolving credit (1 SPG Amex, never carry balance, credit score 750), so I figure I can apply to 2-3 more cards in addition to the Fidelity offer.
What would be the best cards to get in order to make this a reality? I can also do more deposit/brokerage offers like the Fidelity AA offer.

Ummmm are you planning on going this year after graduation? If you are then I'm sorry but you're a bit out of luck...
If it is for one year from now then it's doable, but tough. Why are you the one who needs to amass all the miles? Could your other 2 friends possibly sign up for a credit card or two? The best option I could see is using either AA or UA to get 3 one way tickets from US - SE Asia - Europe - US. This would easily be doable if all your friends had their own miles to use.
You can get the 2 AA cards for 100k miles and 1 credit pull. Then get the UA explorer & CSP for 95K UA miles (convert the UR to UA). This would be plenty to get the one way tickets since you would have a total of ~100k UA and ~160k AA after the spend is met. Have your friends do the same and you're all set!
