Well, I've found that a huge % of time I don't clear my upgrade at the CP/PP window but do clear it at T-24. If they start selling upgrades at T-48 even though elites are on the flight that haven't been upgraded yet... well then they've just basically deleted the entire complimentary upgrades program for elites.

On a side note, I booked a trip a few weeks ago and it's not 2 weeks from departure. I've called almost every day to use miles to upgrade (so I can be 100% sure) and despite the fact that they haven't sold a single FC ticket, they say the seats aren't available for miles upgrade. That pisses me off.
