BA Amex Premium UK Card Cancellation & Companion Cert Issues
I have contacted Amex today to cancel my BA Amex Premium Card.
I have earned the Bonus Avios, Got the Companion cert and prefer to spend the money on othercards as we all do!
I called to cancel today and the representative advised that if I cancel BA can revoke the Companion Cert, as its in there T&C's for taxes to be charged to the BA Amex.
Having had a look I found this:
The Member is responsible for paying any Taxes, Fees & Charges relating to their Companion Voucher booking. All Taxes, Fees & Charges must be paid for using the Member’s British Airways American Express Credit Card.
How does this fare? Do they impose this guideline strictly? Surely you can be expected to hold onto a Credit Card for 2-3 years just to pay some taxes right?
