Yep, I know where it emerges and that the building was designed with this in mind. Unfortunately to put an escalator up to that new area at Security South would mean losing at least one if not two shops on the main departures level. The other issue is that I can't see where you would start the escalator from on the arrivals level, short of building a completely separate FCC to the left of the existing UK Border area. That's a huge amount of building work.

I'm not sure that this is true any more. The Fast Track lanes for Security North are now at the Northern end, away from the Flight Connections escalator. The exit of the Fast Track lanes now drops you only a few paces from Galleries North.
