At least I hope this is the ending, with no additional problems.

Flight for tomorrow morning, upgrade cleared at the 24 hour mark. Only glitch so far (other than late release of seats) is that there are no seats assigned at this point and seating is now under airport control. There was no notification of the upgrade, so initially when I went to check in it appeared that we had just lost our exit row seats for no reason.

Apparently one seat in F had to be held as a 'pilot rest seat' (on a 3.5 hour flight???!). Whatever ... We never should have been upgraded. My husband ended up with the seat he would have had in the first place in the exit row so I took that and gave him mine in F. Bad part is that they had to split the PNR so I'm not sure how that will affect the return. No high hopes here ...

Not impressed.
I noticed yesterday that my seat had been upgraded for our Saturday flight home, but Mr. eerickso's had not. I called UA and the agent asked if I wanted to be downgraded to E.

I told him that we both would have been upgraded if not for the original bump which resulted in the split PNR. He disagreed and said that if we had been on a single PNR neither one of us would have gotten upgraded. I said that obviously was not the case since we both were initially upgraded on the outbound flight, based on my status. He said he could put me on hold and call to check. I ended up waiting on hold for 17 minutes (thank goodness for Skype for long international calls!), but when he finally came back we had seats next to each other in F.
Hopefully the rest of our travel will be issue free.
