Any experience with the Virtuoso amenities at this hotel. It appears that in addition to their standard amenities they also offer a welcome drink, lunch for two and some sort of book. I guess more importantly does anyone have any experience with the Virtuoso upgrades...

FDw - am guessing that the lack of response to your Virtuoso query is due to no-one here having tried that route... sorry. As a data point, I have stayed in both the FS Sultanahmet and PH and feel that they are comparable in style/service levels, etc.

cs9185... Regarding your location question - what would be good for you? To relate to London, the PH is in Knightsbridge (around the corner from the Gucci and Armani stores), while the GH is in Picadilly Circus (busy and buzzy). However, the 'traditional' tourist sights (Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, etc) are in Sultanahmet and neither of the Hyatts are there, although easy to get to by cab.
Your other questions... honestly, there are pages of reviews, opinions and debate here and on the GH thread, with thoughts on their relative merits. Suggest that you look through those and then come back with some specific queries.
I have stayed about fifteen times in Istanbul over the last couple of years, split between the two, and am happy to help but you need to be a little more specific....
