I am really surprised they didn't offer the lady with the allergies the option to stay on board or fly later to avoid the IDB compensation. They could have probably avoided IDB cash in that case since she still had the option to fly.
The missing part of this entire post is the conversation the cat owner had with ground personnel once they stepped off the airplane. Assumptions are being made in this dialogue. Each situation is unique and each unique situation will be handled differently.
