That is NOT true.

Sky Priority check-in (for all terminals) is at T2. Once past security, you can walk to any gate in T2/3 in under 15 minutes, or catch an airside shuttle to get to T4.

If you are positive your flight is departing from T4, you can definitely check in there. One time (very early in the T4 days) I was denied access at T4 security because my flight wasn't departing from there. I assume that is no longer the case, but why bother?
