Mr GoodTimes and I have recently returned from the Hilton Sharks Bay resort in Sharm El Sheikh. Here's my review of the resort:

Check In
Excellent. Greeted with "we've been expecting you" which was a very nice touch. We were upgraded to a Family Deluxe Suite (one bedroom suite in the New part of the hotel overlooking the pool).
It took about 2 minutes to check us in. Our bag was loaded onto a golf cart and off we went.

Resort
Split into two. Old and New (Deluxe). Old has more character and is closer to the "beach". Rooms are smaller than the New side. New side is more contemporary.

Room/suite
Very nice indeed. Balcony overlooked the pool. Downstairs suites/rooms would have given us direct access to the pool. Bathroom had separate shower and bathtub, and twin wash basins.
Glass doors to the shower and loo clashed though (had to carefully open and close each one).
1 or 2 large bottles of water in room each day, with beers, Pepsi and 7Up left in the mini-fridges (one in the living area and one in the bedroom).

Restaurants
Ate mostly in the main restaurant on the new side which was ok. Staff were incredibly friendly. Chefs were a bit miserable - did not smile at all. Buffet restaurants in both sides of the hotel offer the same food.

Breakfast: Excellent selection of bread and pastries, usual beef sausages, beef bacon, egg/omelette/pancake station, cold meat/cheese station (did not try), hot Egyptian food (Om Ali was lovely...like bread pudding).
Lunch: Just ok. Usually had fish or calamari which was delicious, veg dish, pasta. Sometimes, there's hotdogs/burgers and chips. Salad station (did not try).
Dinner: Ok again. Meat was quite tough. Fish / calamari was fine. Themed in the evenings, but we found that the usual fayre kept creeping in. Salad station (did not try).

Il Rustico:
Have to book 2 days in advance. Would not recommend.

Sunset Bar:
Ciabattas / burgers for lunch. Ciabatta was not pleasant. Staff were not friendly.

Waves & Pool Bar on New side:
Just ok. Again, we did not find the staff very friendly.

Snorkelling
£20 deposit for snorkelling mask. £20 deposit for flippers. Direct access to coral.

Spa/health club
Good selection of massages and facials in both spas (run by the same company). Prices were a bit steep but negotiable. A guy comes round the pool asking if you want a treatment. We got a 25% discount for 3 treatments.

Gym in both hotel. One type of equipment in each e.g. ecliptical, treadmill, bike etc with usual resistance equipment.

Transfers
Limo service for USD14 each way.
