In college, I bought a car on eBay in order to get its rare transmission option to install in my car. The car I bought was located in Cortez, CO (near the Four Corners), and I was in Gainesville, FL. I rented a compact car from Enterprise, which was the only company that had unlimited mileage and would rent to under-25 drivers at the time. My friend and I drove non-stop from Gainesville to Cortez (~2000 miles), met the seller at a McDonalds and picked up the car, then drove straight back. Since we had two cars on the way back, we had to stop more often to take brief naps in the cars. But we completed the 4000-mile trip in about 60 hours!
