Some more information might be needed here to make a decision.

AAA has 3 levels, least to best: Classic, Plus and Premier. Most credit card roadside assistance plans seem to fall somewhere between Classic and Plus, but below Premier.

The various local AAA clubs have different benefits, mostly for the Classic memberships. example: one of the Calf. clubs will tow up to 7 miles but one in an Eastern state will tow just 3 miles before they start charging. So you need to check your local club's benefits.

There can be some overlap in non-roadside services if you hold an AAA membership and a premium credit card (or use an optional travel insurance plan available through the card.)

So, there's no quick and dirty answer here.

If you take advantage of all the AAA discounts available, you save enough to get the card membership fee back. I've heard the discounts for one family trip to Disney easily saves more than the annual membership. AAA also gives you some corporate discounts, included in the past: SPG+ status (A business status, not a personal one) for Starwood and they usually have their own discount with at least a one of the major car rental firms (which may or may not be better than what you can get elsewhere.)

In the strange-but-true? department, AAA has a no-fee affinity credit card (Visa Signature, issued by FIA [BoA] participating in Worldpoints) but the webpage with the card information on it mentions nothing about free roadside assistance. Since it's no-fee, I'd guess the AAA credit card is one of those without roadside assistance.
