I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I do call, so I have one more quick question. I've been assuming I cant just keep going East (transiting Atlantic on the way there and Pacific on the way home), but it would actually be the easiest routing I think. Am I correct that I can't turn it into an RTW without it pricing as such?

I'd rather do:

IAD-FRA-HKT
BKK-NRT-IAH
IAH-IAD

But am I stuck with:
IAD-FRA-HKT
BKK-FRA-IAH
IAH-IAD or...

IAD-SFO-ICN-HKT
BKK-NRT-IAH
IAH-IAD
