I'm sittiing on the fence here because the OP raises an interesting question about finding people sacked out in a Marriott hotel lobby. BUT, the OP has ignored an important question raised by Minneapolis. So I'm not taking my thoughts any further because the OP has not exactly provided me with credible information sufficient to posit an opinion.

That said, some replies here seem to suggest that sacking out in Vegas hotel lobbies is both normal and acceptable. Now that's quite a surprise to me as I don't equate conventions with natural disasters or weather catastrophies which do ineed create special imperatives which bend social norms ( and hotel sofas).
