Avis New Zealand Fleet by class

Hi there, long time lurker first time poster. I have noticed that every now and then there are a couple of posts regarding the fleet of Avis-Budget Group in New Zealand. Whilst I know that we are a small-fry internationally, I just thought I would post this up as a guide for those who decide to visit our small corner of the world.

This list is based on the North Island Corporate fleet (Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North) as of April 2012, the South Island (Christchurch, Dunedin, Picton, Queenstown) fleet offers a slightly, but not materially different range. Note also that this does not include franchises outside of the main centres of NZ.

Group A - Sub-Compact
2012 Toyota Yaris 1.3 (Both Manual and Automatic)
2011 Holden Barina 1.6 Manual (aka Chevrolet Aveo) - Now almost completely phased out
2012 Suzuki Swift 1.4 GLX Manual - From October 2012

Group B - Compact Manual
2011 Hyundai i30 1.6 Manual
2012 Toyota Corolla 1.8 GX Manual Hatch
2012 Hyundai Accent 1.6 Manual Hatch - From September 2012
2012 Suzuki SX4 GLX 2.0 Manual Hatch - Coming late 2012

Group C - Compact Automatic
2011 or 2012 Toyota Corolla 1.8 GX Hatch
2011 Toyota Corolla 1.8 GLX Hatch (These are the fully loaded version, but will be deleted in May with no direct replacement in sight)
2012 Toyota Corolla 1.8 GX Sedan
2012 Ford Focus III 2.0 GDI Trend Hatch (Note that there are still some 2012 1.6 Ambiente Hatches floating about)
2012 Hyundai i30 1.6 Hatch
2012 Mazda3 2.0 GLX Hatch
2012 Hyundai Accent 1.6 Hatch Automatic - From November 2012
2012 Holden Cruze 1.4 iTi CD Hatch Automatic - From October 2012

Group D - Intermediate
2011 or 2012 Ford Mondeo 2.3 LX Hatch Automatic
2011 Holden Epica 2.5 CDX Sedan Automatic
2010 Toyota Camry 2.4 GL Sedan Automatic
2012 Toyota Camry 2.5 Atara S Sedan Automatic (This is the very recently launched model)
2012 Holden Cruze 1.8 CDX Sedan Automatic - This is much like the Chevrolet Cruze, a former group C car that has somehow ended up as a group D.
2012 Ford Focus 2.0 GDI Titanium Sedan - Note this vehicle includes GPS as standard, though as far as I am aware is South Island only

Group E - Full Size
2011 Ford Falcon 4.0 XR6 Sedan - FG Series II will be on fleet by the end of the year, will be XR6's with standard GPS
2011 or 2012 Holden Commodore 3.6 SV6 SIDI Sedan
2012 Holden Commodore 3.6 SV6 SIDI Sportwagon - Coming soonish
2011 Toyota Aurion 3.5 V6 AT-X Sedan (New model Aurion will be along soon in Sportivo SX6 form as well)

Group F - Full Size Wagon (All 4x4)
2011 Ford Territory TX 2.7 TDCI Automatic

2012 Toyota Highlander 3.5 V6 Limited Automatic (Note that the fleet is about 90% Highlander in this class)
2010 Mitsubishi Challenger 2.5 DCI Exceed Automatic (Now almost completely phased out)

Group W - Premium 4WD
2012 Toyota Landcruiser Prado 3.0 TD GX Automatic
2011 Toyota Landcruiser Prado 3.0 TD VX Automatic (Being phased out, I have yet to see any new VX's appear on fleet)
2011 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DID Exceed Automatic (Will be mostly gone by August 2012)

Group V - People Carrier
2011 Toyota Previa 2.4 Automatic
2010 Hyundai iMax 2.5 CRDI Automatic (Will soon be the example vehicle for this class, will soon be switching to 2012 2.4 Petrol models)

Group K - Eco-friendly
2011 Toyota Camry 2.4 Hybrid Automatic (Note that these are used interchangably with Group D's)

Group H - Luxury Sedan
2009 Holden Statesman 6.0 V8 Sedan (Wellington International Airport only, of which there are two on fleet, commonly used as upgrades on Group E's for Avis First Members)

Group G - Specialty 4WD
2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser - From July 2012 - There are 3 of these vehicles at Auckland Airport and 1 Each at Wellington and Christchurch Airports

Group as-yet unknown - Sports car
2012 Toyota GT86 Coupe - Not known when exactly these will be arriving, but they have been confirmed by higher-ups. Can also not confirm transmission at this point, though availability is as per Group G.
Budget also offer a Group L which is either one of a Toyota Hiace or Ford Transit Minibus.
