Booked up yesterday for my holiday in July ... I booked economy with the intention to use up me miles to upgrade the entire journey ... I have 107,446 miles and was until beginning of this year still retaining my gold status ... thus is now gone and im back to silver.

I booked yesterday EK22-EK374-EK373-EK17 which is a MAN-BKK rtn ...
Depart 14th July rtn 30th July

I called Skywards to request to use my miles to upgrade the flight and they come back saying there is no availabilty for these flights on the dates that im flying ... well annoyed i am ... reason being a good percentage of my miles will expire this year and i usually use them to upgrade...

What are the chance that more seats will open up as i would rather use my miles now to try and get it sorted rather than wait at the airport to see if there seats are available ... I was told its a busy period of the year apparnetly ... by skywards ... and they also told there is no Waitlist ... which i think is rubbish as when i was gold status i was able to get waitlisted on my booking ...

Any info or avenue's I could try or is a waiting game and keep checking back
