It does not normally stop for refueling. The old L-1011s used to have to stop in LAX when the headwinds were strong. Thankfully, the newer/newish planes that DL has replaced the L-1011s with usually make it all the way to HNL without stopping.

Non-stop = no scheduled stop. You'll not see 737s or 757s operating a non-stop from ATL to HNL.

Direct != non-stop. One flight number, one or more scheduled stops.
