Really? Someone occupying 3 or 4 "rear end" widths on a couch in a common area is something to get upset about at 2am? Please don't sit here and tell us that you were inconvenienced because that is the time you had picked to sit in that spot for a card game.
Anyone that has to "take an angle" on a situation who inherently didn't experience the situation they are angling on is someone that I have no patience for. Safety? Are you kidding me? Returning to your hotel in Vegas at 2am is 10x more dangerous than someone ASLEEP in the lobby once you arrive there.
I just returned from a really nice Marriott that I hated to be at because I was burying my uncle who was killed in an accident while enjoying a beautiful Saturday motorcycle rally with his friends at the young age at 58. Some of you people need to find some real things to worry about and get upset with in life.

Unlike many of the live-n-let-livers here, I think that *is* something to be angry about. The $ you pay for a hotel is not just for the room; if that were true, it would be a Motel. You also pay for the common amenities, one of which is the lobby and entryway, which should be attractive and functional and not generally populated by couch-sleepers.
You should lodge a complaint and press the angle that you are nervous for your safety with non-guests allowed to sleep in the lobby....
