The changes/cuts are announced well in advance so give ample opportunity to make alternative arrangements.
Sadly if flights are not busy then they're subject to being chopped. Many FT'ers don't know LGW even exists!

But those of us who have made plans are incovenienced, sometimes severely, when we have bookings that BA then cancels / changes. Happens all the time at LGW - which is a great pity because the service at LGW is so good.
