A functional monitor at the gate is the best source of information to determine gate upgrades; with the exception of the gate staff. Upgrades at the gate are not represented in emails, input kiosks, apps, online, or check in processes. The scan only non input kiosks are also a good source of gate upgrade information.

So the gate monitor will indicate upgrade and the associated seat. The scan only non input kiosks will print a new boarding pass with the associated seat number. Otherwise, scan the original boarding pass at the gate and the new seat number will print.

Or at least that is how the process works (or does not work) this week. The frustrating aspect is the seat can only be changed by staff currently with gate upgrades so you must visit an agent or call an agent to change seats. As noted above, the online process no longer lists your original or new seat after the gate upgrade. The gate staff appear unaware of the non functional aspects of the process and have told me on occasion to check online for upgrade status if the monitor is not functional.
