I was sitting in J of a 333. One of the last passengers to rush on board took her bag to the luggage bin above my seat and then put the bag in there. She then spoke to one of the flight attendants and said that she had been assigned a jump seat. At first, I thought that she was going to sit in one of the crew seats, but I was quite surprised that she got shown into the cockpit and she stayed in there for the duration of the flight, including getting her meal served there.
I did not know that passengers could get assigned cockpit seats now. Is this something new? From overhearing the conversation between the passenger and the flight attendant, I did not get the impression that the passenger was anyone famous or that favors had been pulled.
She must be an employee then, probably on reposition flight to cover others shift...
