Did you use any of these rooms? In how far were they different? Better locks? Lower peep hole? Cameras in the corridors? Or was it comfort oriented: bidet, more towels, different toiletries and such?

I walked to the other hotel and left her standing on the sidewalk. No way was I going to ride in a taxi for such a short distance.

Amazing story! Hard to believe, but coming from you I have no reason to doubt it. May I ask how old was that lady and where did she come from. I mean, that's so old school or so spoiled, it seems like something from another century.
