Alternatively, was the city fully booked due to weather/airport issues or some special event so that the sleepers could have been people with reservations who would have been walked except for the problem that there were no alternative hotels with vacancies?
Great questions.

While they didn't appear "homeless", I'm still not pleased returning to find people on the couch while I'm paying for a room. Can I cancel my stay for tomorrow and sleep on the couch?
Well if you had been in Vegas April 16th-19th, the city WAS basically sold out w/ a very large convention. This weekend there are a bunch of conventions, although on the smaller side. Plus the Eagles are playing on Sunday, throw in the normal set of tourists, etc. Short of conventions, Vegas is busier on the weekend than during the week.

BTW - obviously you & I are different, but I think I'd rather have a room w/ a real king size bed w/ nice pillows/mattresses, full bathroom, tv, desk, etc, than a couch, so I'm not sure the 'couch sleepers' are getting a better deal than you. Sounds like they got what they paid for .

You can register a complaint w/ the management. After that, unless you think your safety is threatened, let it go & enjoy your stay in Vegas. And put the property on your won't stay in again if it bothers you that much. Speaking of which, which property was it?

PS - Welcome to Flyertalk!

Cheers.
