I've had it on the odd occasion....did it make it a better experience? Not really. Some people take it all far too seriously if you ask me. There is no doubt it is in ego thing and all to do with ones status being recognised. I imagine most crew are quite happy not do it.....which seems to be happening nowadays anyway.
