In my experience (which I would say is much more than 'limited'!) this is still pretty rare. It doesn't even always happen in F.

I just don't get why it is so rare when we hear from crew here all the time that it is 'encouraged' within BA

Of course crew are busy, but not all of them all of the time. I refuse to believe this! As one of my schoolmasters used to say 'only those who do nothing never have time for anything else'!

On a positive note I really get the impression that those who go the extra mile on BA are not just doing it by rote but really mean what they say... which goes for a couple of CSDs on recent trips.

And lo and behold, the trips on which the SCCM or cabin purser does do this end up being those more memorable in all aspects of the service because of a positive, proactive and welcoming attitude on board and is proud of the airline and what it offers ^
