I do not travel for work at all.
I will admit, I do not know that much about the platinum benefits. But spending $3,200 a year just to have status at a hotel group where you only need to spend less than 10 nights a year seems like a really high price to pay for status.
There are so many things that could happen in the next ten years that could make this 'investment' be a poor one.

This would be my advice, as well. Just think, if this money was well invested, you could use it to just outright book a suite at a fancy hotel whenever you travelled.
