However one should always be prepared that things wouldn't work exactly as it was described.

For example should I buy a ticket for my girlfriend from Italy, visit the office, get the documents and so on only to discover that in Singapore during check in they will say something like "no, unfortunately the card holder should be present, there is no other way" - you know how things happen due to miscommunication.

I would really appreciate comments on a subject of buying a ticket online for a third person... in context of Qatar


* as an example of misscomunication, my girlfriend Flew Qatar on April 5-6th from Singapore just few weeks ago, they reached Doha with a delay that resulted in her being transfered to a flight by AirItalia instead of original Qatar one from Doha to Milan, she asked Qatar's stuff rep if she had to collect a boarding pass for AirItaly or proceed directly to boarding since the boarding was already ongoing, and Qatar rep told her that "It is ok, just go to the gate, they are informed". When she reached the gates they asked her for the boarding pass and told her to go back to Qatar, this resulted in her missing this flight as well, she ended up flying 3 hours later with Lufthansa, with her luggage reaching us only 5 days later...
