Has anyone stayed at both hotels? About to book a week stay, and trying to decide which one to stay.
Some questions:
- Does either offer a full breakfast buffet to Platinums?
- Is it the full breakfast buffet, or just the "Toast & Cereal"
- Is the breakfast worth it compared to nearby restaurants?
I've looked up all the threads on FT and I'm confused on the situation on breakfast.

I posted my response on the W thread. I will answer for you again on this thread. The breakfast at LM is offered at the widely popular Discovery "buffet" restaurant. Although not the best in the LM asia chain, it is the best in SPG taipei (better than W; although I do like the atmosphere of Kitchen Table). I did have a few service and food issues for breakfast at LM, but overall still decent. The breakfast is free for platinum member and one guest.
Even without the free breakfast option at W prior to the platinum choice; I would still prefer W over LM. The marvelous suite is far superior to the junior suite at LM. The location of W cannot be beat. When it is pouring rain outside, you will thank me, since you can get down to the metro without stepping outside (just walk through the department store). There are plently of eating establishment on B-level and on the 7th floor of the department store.
