I just had a 3 night stay, family vacation, last weekend.

I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel looked.

I stayed in building 4. Family Palm suite. Perfect setup for my wife and 3 kids. We had a pull out sofa and bunk beds in the front room, twin beds in the bedroom (unfortunately the King bed suites were not available). Access to the unit is via an outside open balcony. It's a bit dated but didn't bother me. Had a private balcony over looking the pool.

Platinum benefits were great. Total cost for 3 nights was zero dollars. Booked on points using suite nights award, was given one free breakfast coupon per day (4). No charge for parking. We went twice for breakfast, took 2 coupons, they comped my wife and I and said my kiddies were free. The food at the buffet is OK - nothing to write home about, but no complaints either.

The only complaint I have is that I wish the pools were heated. The daytime temperature was 80-85F but the pool was on the cold side (I have a cottage in northern Ontario, so I'm used to cold water). I thought with the hot weather the pool would have been warmer.

It's a good temperature if you are actively swimming but not good for lounging/relaxing about. In fact, two of my children spent more time in the hot tub than in the pool.

Other than that, kudos to the hotel and staff.
