In theory you probably get asked to find the 50K Avios and give them back or buy them for £815, or they might deduct it from your refund before sending it out. In practice Lloyds seems to be so disorganised that you might not get anything back at all. The dream scenario (that they send you a refund cheque and forget about the Avios) seems unlikely but not utterly implausible.
My card would no longer exist for the refund to be processed to, though.
My question was more along the lines of "What does the airline do in this situation?" Can they refund me to a different card? Or do I end up with a credit note?
