Really strange story here but great ending: 100k bonus on my Ink Bold signup. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else.
In December I applied for the Ink Bold card. I never heard anything from them so figured I was denied. I was out of the country at the time. Back in the US in March, I called the reconsideration line and they said because it was 30-days past, there wasn't anything they could do to check it.
Anyway about a week later, I get one of those random 1-800 calls that I usually don't answer. But I did. From Chase Bold, asking me how I like my card, etc. I told the lady I never received it. She looks it up and indeed, she says for some reason it was never sent.
She asks if she can send it and I said, well, I signed up primarily because of the bonus and without it I wouldn't be interested. So she goes offline to see if I'm still eligible as it is now more than 90-days since the card opened.
She comes back and says she will try and reactivate the promotion for me and that they'll send me a letter about it.
So I get the card, and also get a letter saying, "Your Ink Bold Card has been credited with 50,000 Points." No spend, no nothing. Perfect!
I call to activate today and have a nice chat with the lady (I'm learning the more you talk with them the more you learn!). She says that I'm eligible for the April promotion of 50,000 after $5000 spend. I said, "Really?! Even with the 50k I already got?" She says yes sir, we are happy to have you as a customer.
So looks like I get another 50k after my spend. That's 100k for signing up, tho getting $5k in spend might be a bit of a trick.
Anyway, I'll take my luck here after missing a few promotions here and there.
I can't imagine there is any way to duplicate this, I obviously got stuck somewhere in the system. Perhaps there is a flag that didn't clear? I should have asked more questions why.
The Chase Business cards don't show up in your Chase account so its not like you can see that you received it. So make you are calling when you don't hear back from them.
