my only diversion ever was UA NRT-JFK on B744 where they blew out one of the four engines mid-flight, and went to IAD instead, I assume because they had more facilities for repairs there. They flew us back up on a 757 up to JFK. I assume they re-routed most people with connections from IAD rather than JFK.
LAX to DFW, diverted to Amarillo due to medical. I had to find my own way home that day.
DAL to MSY, diverted to Shreveport due to medical. Southwest did take us the rest of the way that day.
DAL to LIT, diverted to Memphis due to weather and spent hours there.
TUL to IAH, same flight diverted twice due to weather. The first time was New Orleans, when we took off for IAH from MSY the weather moved in again and we went to Brownsville until 2:00 in the morning. I was supposed to get into Houston about 5:00 PM the previous day. Long long long day, it's usually about about a 2 hour flight.
There have been quite a few others, when you fly a lot it is bound to happen.
