2012 Cadillac CTS 3.6L Sedan Performance Trim Ride Report/Review

Interestingly, CTSes used to be quite prevalent in the National fleet at DCA until they suddenly departed for several years. It seems they're now making a comeback (along with CTS wagon variants, no coupes yet), and they're no longer UXARs, hooray! They're actually LCARs, and better equipped than the other LCAR option, 2012 Lincoln MKZs. I guess they've replaced the now defunct DTS sedan, which used to be the LCAR workhorse.

Also, Hertz and National seem to order their CTSes in the same trim level, the second highest "Performance" trim, which comes well equipped with many options, including panoramic UltraView roof, upgraded audio.

LCAR
18/27

PROS:

- Angular and aggressive exterior design
- Luxurious interior, unparalleled Ultraview Roof, fabulous sounding Bose audio system
- Large trunk, quiet cabin interior
- Generally competent handling, acceleration and braking

CONS:

- Some cheap looking interior materials
- Soft handling, heavy curb weight
- Rear passenger leg room and interior storage space lacking
- No standard multimedia screen, small rear view camera

CONCLUSION: One of the best in American luxury.
