I need a one way ticket MCI-MSP. Delta is the only carrier that flies nonstop.

Revenue tickets are $388 for the date I need.

Award tickets are 25K for a flight that is uncomfortably early or 40K for a perfectly timed flight.

It's a terrible price to pay for a one way ticket, and it is a terrible award redemption since there is no way to do a one way award on Delta.

Is there any workaround for getting a one way award on Delta? (I'm probably dreaming, but FTers are so clever, I thought it would be worth asking!)
