Boits, two more nights keeps you platinum through 2013 (and should be through Feb 2014; status expires end of Feb the next year). You won't drop in status if you don't hit 50 nights in 2012.
This is a no-brainer. Worst case, book two cheap weekend nights somewhere. I'd definitely find something to do for two nights for plat status.
Your 2013 stay count will dictate your status for 2014 so you can coast through 2013.
