I've flown the E170/190 on US Express and United Express. (I never remember the specific regional airlines who operate them...I imagine it shouldn't be hard to figure out though.) I actually get them a lot on US. No idea how often they're used in Chicago.

Unless, of course, you can and want to buy E+ or equivalent, and that airline has E+ in mainline but not in RJ. Whether that's the case, of course, varies by airline (and may further vary by exact RJ type). I understand the UA has E+ on many of its RJs. I understand that the upcoming Main Cabin Elite on AA will only apply to mainline however. I'm not sure about DL Comfort Plus.
United is probably the most advanced in terms of E+ and F on RJ's...they've had their CR-7's and larger outfitted for a few years now. My flights to/from ORD have traditionally been CR-7 or bigger. But I have a couple trips later this spring on UX on E145's through former CO hubs. I get the sense that Continental used a ton of the smaller RJ's in their system, and those obviously don't have E+ or F and maybe never will(?).

As a taller person, the only way I want to fly a small RJ (like E145) is in one of the 3 exit row seats. And even then, the height of those seems too short for me. But I can only book exit row seats ahead of time if I have status!
+1. I always feel like I'm sitting on a thin plank of plywood in the exit row on the smaller RJ's. The seat feels low and almost completely void of padding.
