For full disclosure. I got my PLT status through one of the recent promos. I wouldn't have any problem qualifying as I spend more than 300 nights yearly at hotels. It is just very difficult for me to stay at Accor hotels considering what benefits I would receive at Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental, Marriott & Starwood properties i.e. mostly suites, breakfast/lounge access etc. But, I do understand that these are NOT benefits of the Platinum status.
Got to agree with you as I class myself as a cheapo stayer. I qualify the minimum 60 nights thru my stay with All Season/Ibis which score me 90% upgrade & recognised. So far 100% success rate with sofitel & Pullman. and 100% failure with MGallery.
Sorry for whining.
