The plane was N670US. DL did an absolutely amazing job with the refurbishment of the 747. It is on par with many airlines 1st class offerings. What more can you say when you have a 1-1 configuration on the upper deck? There are only 15 seats up there so its a totally private atmosphere. A few notes to point out. The lavs were left untouched. It might have been a good idea to take the two lavs and make just one big one. I mean, with only 15 passengers on the upperdeck, 1 big lav would suffice. The sidewalls weren't upgraded,not that it needed it, nor were the OHB's and PSU's. Which is all well and good, because the seat is absolutely amazing. Its the 777 style flat bed but better. The arm rest slides down into the seat so you get more 'elbow' room. Although its a bit tough to look out the window for views, its not that difficult. Also, the upperdeck really wouldn't be that bad for couples. Sitting across from one another would be just fine. The TV monitor is huge, another big win for Delta. Why pay to fly first class on UA/AA when you now have this option? Anyway, here are the pics.
