I have too much time on my hands tonight at Gate C6 waiting for a red-eye flight from SLC to ATL. I saw the small print patent number at the bottom of the screen, thanks to my brand new progressive bifocals. The real question is -- why did the patent office give Delta a patent for something so obvious?
They obviously disagree with you as "non-obviousness" is a requirement to get a patent. Also, note this was filed in late 2000, before GIDS-type screens were common.
