I personally find usage of terms like "Barbie Jet" despicable. This kind of "terminology" is insulting to the aircraft manufacturers who build these jets and the pilots who fly them. Sure, you may have to gate check a bag and it's not as easy to walk around inside the inside but people should give these aeroplanes the respect they deserve. They operate the same way as a full-size airliner but they're just built smaller for better economics on short/low-volume routes.
I love flying widebodies and in a perfect world where we didn't have to worry about fuel or money or environmental impact I'd want them to fly every route. But real life isn't like that and while it's definitely important to discuss the different features and characteristics of different airliners, let's just use the proper terminology when we're talking about them.
