If you are staying at a hotel on the trip, ask at the front desk. Many have boxes of chargers left behind. While finding one for a think pad is a long shot, somebody may have left one. You can probably pick up a few Cell phone ones though.
This is a great tip. I've done this for cell phone charging before. It's surprising how much stuff they have up there. Literally dozens of chargers of various types, including for laptops, i-things, generic (mini or micro usb) and proprietary phone chargers, etc.
